6. Nov 01,  · Yes, men are referred to as “gods” in Scripture, and we need to know why. We cannot ever be “gods” as Mormons claim we can be. The famous bromide of Mormonism— “As we are God once was; as God is we will become” —is a definite no-no in Catholic and biblical Christianity.

8. We Are Co-Creators To say, “You are gods” is such a direct statement that we might assume there would be little or no doubt or debate about its meaning. Nevertheless, some say the “G” should get capitalized and the passage then translated to be “You are God’s,” meaning that “You belong to God.”.

9. Aug 22,  · First, God’s will of command is revealed with final, decisive authority only in the Bible. And we need the renewed mind to understand and embrace what God commands in the Scripture. Without the renewed mind, we will distort the Scriptures to avoid their radical commands for self-denial, and love, and purity, and supreme satisfaction in Christ.
